1. About the Application
PrivateWhisper is a macOS application that performs local speech transcription using models stored on the user’s device. All audio processing occurs locally.
2. No Guarantees and No Warranties
PrivateWhisper is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
This includes, but is not limited to, warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Transcription accuracy is not guaranteed in any situation or environment. Results may contain mistakes, omissions, misinterpretations, or unexpected AI-generated output.
3. AI-Generated Output Disclaimer
The application uses machine learning models that may produce incorrect, biased, offensive, misleading, or otherwise undesirable output.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The developer is not liable for any outcome resulting from AI-generated or model-generated output, including but not limited to errors, hallucinations, misinterpretations, offensive content, or harmful suggestions.
- The user is fully responsible for reviewing, validating, and deciding how to use the output.
- The user agrees not to rely on the app for decisions where inaccurate transcription could lead to harm, loss, or adverse consequences.
PrivateWhisper is not intended for medical, legal, safety-critical, or any other high-risk use cases.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The developer of PrivateWhisper is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages.
- The developer is not responsible for any loss of data, loss of business, loss of profits, or any decisions or actions taken based on transcription results or AI output.
- Your use of the application is at your own risk.
If liability cannot be fully excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
5. Local Processing and Data
PrivateWhisper does not transmit audio or transcription content off your device.
The developer does not collect, store, or access your transcription data.
Non-personal technical information may be used for licensing validation.
6. Permitted Use
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the application.
You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the software without prior written permission.
7. Refunds
If you purchased the application through Gumroad, Gumroad’s refund terms apply.
If the app does not function on your device, you may request a refund within 7 days by contacting the developer.
8. Updates and Changes
Features, models, or performance may change over time.
The developer may update or discontinue any part of the application at any time.
